Food and Fat Loss
Friday June 15, 2007
Now that summer is here, many of us are even more interested in weight loss than we were back in winter when our flesh was less "viewable". Diet and exercise are the dynamic duo when it comes to losing weight, because no matter which way you slice the pie, you have to burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. This is the consensus from just about every nutritional expert I've read, and I've read many.
There are some ideas floating around that certain foods will help you lose more weight than others, but the effect is minimal compared to calories out exceeding calories in. Paul Rogers, About's guide to weight training has written an informative article on the Facts and Fallacies of Foods for Fat Loss that explains the basics of food, exercise, and fat burning quite well.
If you are ready to dive in to weight loss, you will find a lot of great information on About's weight loss site. Another set of weight loss tools you might want to investigate are at About's Calorie-Count site. There you will find the calories and nutritional information for just about any food you can think of, and that's just for starters.
So eat healthy, eat fewer calories (not necessarily less food) and exercise - easy. Saunter on over to the Pilates exercises and get started!
