The American College of Sports Medicine's Health and Fitness Journal has published its projections for fitness trends of 2008. In an ordered list of 20 trends, Pilates is in the top 10 at number 7! The trends are based on data collected from more than 1,800 members of the American College of Sports Medicine(ACSM) from all over the world. In 2006, Pilates and yoga were combined as body/mind practices and held the number 8 spot together. This year, Pilates is at 7 and yoga has the number 10 spot.
The ACSM was careful to educate their respondents on the difference between a fad and a trend before they took their survey. A fad being a short lived craze, and a trend representing a change in the way people are behaving. So this is exciting news for Pilates. Naturally, I'm not surprised. What I am a little surprised about is that many of the other top 10 trends relate very directly to Pilates as well. For example, educated and experienced fitness professionals, like certified Pilates instructors, is number 1; Strength training, like Pilates, took number 4; core training, as in Pilates wrote the book, is number 5; and functional fitness, another essential element of Pilates training, is number 8. So look out world, Pilates is here to stay!

http://www.wholelifebody.com/reformer.php.
I got mine from there and I use it in my therapy clinic with great results….I know the machine looks medieval but I use it on a wide range of patients from children to senior citizens and they all love it…..It runs smooth, easy to adjust, anyone with any strnegth can start, and it is hard to hurt yourself on it. This is a great machine to build your strength from inside out.
