Super Bowl Player Does Pilates

Saturday February 2, 2008
R.W. McQuartersHere's a cool bit of Super Bowl info for you: New York Giants cornerback, R.W. McQuarters, includes Pilates in his regular training routine.

The January '08 issue of Pilates Style magazine reports that McQuarters is in the studio three times a week for 30 minutes to an hour, stretching and working out on the Pilates machines like the Cadillac and Tower. In the article entitled, Giant Steps, McQuarters is quoted as saying: "I haven't had a muscle injury since I started doing Pilates." And, for those of us who don't play football and risk muscle injury on a regular basis, this report from McQuarters on his experience with Pilates should encourage anyone: "I feel a lot looser, I sleep better, my hamstrings feel open, my hips are more aligned. And even the next day, I feel better."
