Exercise of the Week - One Leg Circle with Exercise Band
Wednesday April 2, 2008
Tone your thighs and stretch your hamstrings as you work your abdominals. As in the regular version of One Leg Circle, this exercise is about using the abdominal muscles to maintain stability of the pelvis as the leg moves independently in the hip socket. The idea is that, without creating undo tension in the body, the deep core muscles work to keep the motion of the leg from affecting the trunk.Use the Exercise Band with One Leg Circle to emphasize different aspects of the exercise. The mild resistance that the band gives will work the leg and hip muscles, as well as provide feedback with regard to the placement of the leg in the hip socket, and its path through space.
