I've just about given up on writing book reviews because they don't seem to be very popular with readers (if I'm wrong about that, let me know) but I want to mention a book that I find myself referring to a lot. It is called, Pilates Body in Motion by Alycea Ungaro. I think Pilates Body In Motion is one of the best introduction to Pilates books out there. One of my favorite things about Pilates Body In Motion is that it has very good pictures of the exercises, including easy to see images of both what to do and what not to do, as well as an "exercise at a glance" section that shows the whole flow of the exercise. Some of the pictures even have diagrams and little notes on them pointing out specific cues for the exercise. If I were to recommend a book for the beginner/int. bookshelf, this would be near the top of the list.

I love your book reviews and find them very helpful. There is a jungle of books out there and I get lots of questions form clients on which I recommend, what book to buy, what I think of the book they’ve bought etc.
Thank you for all your god work, Marguerite!
Thanks for that comment. I’ve received some communications for other readers too that they are reading book reviews and finding them helpful. I’m glad to hear it. I’ve got two books in mind that are about to be released in October. As soon as they are, the reviews will be here.
Marguerite, I also appreciate your book (as well as DVD and podcast) reviews. Although I am not a pilates instructor, I do buy books and DVDs to help supplement my practice as I am not able to continue my private sessions. So thanks again and please know that your reviews are read and appreciated!
