Walsh, May-Treanor Do Pilates

Saturday August 23, 2008
As we continue tracking Olympic athletes who do Pilates, I'm proud to report that Olympic Beach Volleyball gold medal winners, Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor both added Pilates to the pre-Beijing Olympic training programs.

I didn't know that Walsh and May-Treanor did Pilates when I watched them win their gold medals. Of course their bodies were fabulous. Who could miss that? But it was their strength, grace, and economy of motion - all qualities Pilates practitioners aspire to - that really blew me away. Oh, and the gold medal win, of course! Beautiful. A job well done!

I'm still collecting info on Olympic athletes who do Pilates. If you know of any, please leave a comment below. Thanks.
