I am wondering if this exercise would get rid of my big ol hips? I hate when I stand in front of the mirror and see the spread, spreading more each day. I am trying to lose some weight and have went on nutrisystem so maybe pilates would help too. Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately, spot reduction has proven to be a myth. You have to lose weight all over your body with the combination of diet and exercise. That said, Pilates is good exercise, and it does help shape the body – being famous for creating a long, lean look because of its emphasis on balanced muscle development and not bulking up.
