Now and then I like to remind everyone that Pilates conferences are a wonderful way to learn from the best Pilates teachers, and to make friends and network with like-minded Pilates people as well. There are two conferences on the horizon calling my attention right now. Both are happening this fall but there is still time to register.
Let's start with South America because I think it is exciting how much interest in Pilates has grown in South America in the past few years, especially in Argentina. This year, The South American Pilates Conference will be held in Buenos Aires October 11, 12 and 13.
Many luminaries of the Pilates world will be teaching in Buenos Aires including Pilates Elder Lolita San Miguel; as well as Rael Isacowitz, Cara Reeser, Kathy Corey, Brett Howard, Elizabeth Larkham and Samantha Wood. What a great reason to make a trip to Argentina! See: South American Pilates Conference
The stars may not be aligned for everyone to head to Argentina this year. Not to worry, The Pilates Method Alliance annual conference is going to be in Las Vegas N.V., November 7-10. Las Vegas is one of the easiest and usually affordable places to fly to in North America so consider that a perk. Plus, the conference is at Ballys, right on the strip. Hopefully in this case "What happens in Vegas..." won't stay in Vegas. As usual, the PMA Conference looks to be a big and amazing conference with extraordinary teachers and class topics of variety and depth. See the PMA conference brochure.
Heads up for those of you who have not been to a major Pilates conference before: The conferences I've mentioned here are open to all, however, the class topics and skill level are typically oriented toward more int./advanced levels and professionals . Check the schedules carefully before you sign up.
