reformer exercise rowingsThe Pilates reformer rowing exercises are very interesting. They build strength and control all the way from your powerhouse -- hips, abs and back -- through your shoulders and arms. They are also a little bit intricate, with a lot of oppositional movement, articulation through the core and range of motion in the shoulders. In short, they are int. to adv. level challenges and really great exercises.

I am very excited about bringing the rowing sequence to you as we have a special guest instructor. Well-known Pilates teacher Alisa Wyatt has provided beautiful photos and exercise instructions for the rowing series. This week we start with rowings 1 and 2 and will be bringing you more as we move into the first part of 2013.  What a great way to launch a new year, by getting the rowings figured out and working for you.

No reformer? You will learn a lot by looking at this sequence anyway. Also, notice how you can see mat exercises like roll up and boomerang in parts of the rowings sequence.
