Recently, we had some fun with a list of things NOT to say to a Pilates beginner. It was a good way to counter some of the prevailing misconceptions about Pilates but hey, we can't stop there. It is also important for beginners to know what is helpful.
Of course I've put a lot of writing time into beginner information, but each person's Pilates journey is unique and many times it's the encouraging word, the insight gleaned from personal experience, or the one piece of info no one else thought to mention that makes all the difference to someone new to Pilates.
So, whether you are an instructor or just getting underway, please take a moment to think about what helped you, or would have helped you, as a beginner and share your best tip or two.
