Workout clothes for Pilates and yoga are the same, so I took some time to investigate PrAna, an active wear brand known for its yoga clothing. I was mostly interested in PrAna's classic styles. I say classic because PrAna also makes a lot of clothes with swirly flowers and paisley patterns. Those are fun, but not as versatile as the PrAna basics I'm going to tell you about here.
Intro to PrAna Workout Clothes for Pilates and Yoga
I like the PrAna line for a few reasons. I appreciate that the company is environmentally conscious. They have a number of green commitments and make workout clothes in organic cotton. They also have a signature fabric, Viana™, that is moisture wicking and stretchy, but keeps its shape. I also like the casual, comfy look PrAna clothes have while they keep a sense of structure.
Lastly, PrAna colors appeal to me. I like definite colors -- nothing washed out looking -- and I found rich, warm tones for winter and clear, bright hues in the summer line.
Below are notes on some of the workout clothes from PrAna that I tried out. These are everyday basics that, judging by how much I see the PrAna logo around the studio, hold up well.
The Jada Pant

The Jada Pant
(c)PrAnaThis is the workout pant I got attached to. It has panels, almost like a riding pant. At first I thought, oh no, not me, I can't wear a cut like that. I'll look like the horse...and so on. But I tried it and I looked OK. Maybe the curve of the panels accentuated my already curve-happy hips but the styling was leg-flattering and I felt good in them. Organic cotton helps with that, of course. If you can take something a little unusual in the cut of your exercise pants, the Jada is worth trying. $65.00
The Carlie Pant
Carlie is is a classy, basic workout pant. It is mid rise waist with a slight crossover styling, this one has straight, fitted legs and a slight boot cut at the bottom. It comes is a variety of warm tones, but I liked the basic black because it was really black. $65.00
The Divine Pant

The Divine Pant
(c)PrAnaFor some reason the Divine pant is cut much more generously than the others. It is fuller in the leg and seems to have a bigger waist band too. It can be hard to find boutique workout clothing that fits a fuller figure so try this one if most styles are too tight. They are not oversize mind you, but they are more forgiving. $64.00
