Pilates at the Olympics Pt. 1

Saturday August 9, 2008
Sanya RichardsOne of the many things I like about Pilates is that it is so totally non-competitive. It's just you meeting the needs of your body. Period. That said, however, there are many Olympic athletes using Pilates to support their training. As the Olympics progress I'll be reporting on the ones I know of, and as I hear about them. If you know of any Olympic athletes using Pilates, be sure to help me out and leave a comment below.

For startes, Pilates Style magazine (Aug. '08) reports that Sanya Richards, a sprinter and the favorite for the 400 meter track competition, trains in Pilates at least two times a week. (she trains with Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle of Austin, TX) Go Sanya!!
